In my short time brewing, this beer has gotten the best response yet. The wife and I are big Formula 1 fans, and I brewed the first batch the day before we left for the US Grand Prix at Indy this summer. I bottled it the day after it was announced that they will no longer run that race (hence the name). Just did a 2nd batch last night..here it is:

1.5 lbs. British Chocolate
.5 lbs. 60L Crystal
.5 lbs. Roasted Barley
.5 lbs. British Black Patent
6lbs. Light DME
1oz. East Kent Goldings (4.5% aau) 60 min.
1oz. East Kent Goldings (4.5% aau) 30 min.
1.5 cups Lactose
Wyeast 1332 (Northwest Ale)

Steep grains for 30 min.
Add Lactose last 10 min. of boil

4 weeks in primary, straight to bottle
The yeast was suggested by a guy at the LHBS. The slight fruitiness goes really well with the roasty/malty sweetness. Any feedback is welcome.

...and here I expected to see a Greg Ginn or Rollins reference :(

I thought of that-I was thinking 'Requiem Stout' or something like that, but that sounds a little too ominous for a beer that's sweet and smooth.
