Received this kit from Austin Brewing In the directions when adding the bittering hops I am to use 1 1/4 Oz of Tettnag and for the flavor hops I am to add 1/4 oz of Tettnang and 1/4 oz of Saaz for the last 15 minutes. Would it be allright to just split the packets so 1/2 oz of Tettnang and a 1/2 ounce of Saaz or will this totally throw the whole taste of the beer? Cheers

It will still be beer. Someone did some homework and found that was the best they could do to duplicate the taste. If you want the same, follow the steps. If you split them, it will taste (perhaps imperceptably) different, but I'm sure it will still be decent.
That said, pick yourself up a scale...they're invaluable in homebrewing.
