does yeast ever run out of steam? Say if there were a tonne of sugar, would one packed of yeast be able to digest the entire thing and just take a long time, or does the yeast slowly fade away? Sorry if this isnt supposed to be in this area or if theres a sticky about it...

Yeast will reproduce enough to eat the sugars available. They will run out of steam depending on the ABV and yeast strain.
