"Does This Look Normal"

By:

  • Hi guys, I'm new to brewing my own beer, I have just finished the 1st stage of fermentation on a Coopers Auzzie Pale Ale, which I added Cascade hoops too. I have kept it at 25c for the past week and half. It is now ready to bottle but noticed it has a skin. Is this normal.

I've never seen this on any of my brews, but that's only about 8 so I'm not experienced. Can you give some more details to how you sanitized and what is that black apparatus that looks to be semi-submerged in your wort? I've read a skin on the surface could be due to a contamination. As long as the beer tastes okay you should be fine.
