We always used an oxygen tank and stone to get O2 levels up before pitching and have had good
results with both ales and lagers, assuming we had properly spun up our yeast to the right
pitching rates....Posted in thread: Pictures or advice for a 1 to 1.5 barrel system? on 05-13-2013 at 05:42 PM
My brew buds and I built 25-gal all-electric systems, using theelectricbrewery.com and other
sources as inspiration. Then upgraded that to 55-gal, allowing us to do 1-barrel batches. Its a

My understanding is that it is not good to over-mill your grain. I've always just run it
through the mill one time, and get 80% efficiency if I'm doing a 6-gallon batch, and over 85%
if I'm doing 15 g...Posted in thread: Ok, let's get it on! on 06-24-2012 at 04:05 PM
