He's not not lagering, he's just deferring itAnd you feel that it will have zero consequences

You're good. I 'conditioned' an Oktoberfest for a month before lagering (keezer was busy with
fermentations). The Oktoberfest turned out to be my best beer of 2011.3 cheers for anecdotal

It should be fine that way. If you're concerned about the seal, hit it with a 12 psi burst once
every 2 weeks or so.
