You're good. I 'conditioned' an Oktoberfest for a month before lagering (keezer was busy with
fermentations). The Oktoberfest turned out to be my best beer of 2011.3 cheers for anecdotal

I guarantee you will notice a fairly big difference between the two beers. Lagering is done for

It should be fine that way. If you're concerned about the seal, hit it with a 12 psi burst once
every 2 weeks or so.
