Thank you guys. I appreciate the advice.

I've been conscripted to making a "mexican themed" beer for a party at the end of January. I'm
thinking about doing a smoked pepper porter. I've got the "smoked" part down, and the "porter"
    part down,...

Do you segregate equipment used for bacterial beers and non-bacterial beers? I would like to
use WL670 farmhouse in a Saison I'm making, but I don't want my next IPA to taste like a
    sourapple. Will st...

Gravity after one week w starter yeast showed no fermentation after 6 days

I added three vials of new yeast three days ago. I'm fermenting now. The yeast used in my
starter must have been heat damaged or something.

-- 1.066. Same at when wort transferTonight -- a layer of krausen exists! It beings.. Unleash
    the kraken.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll try it out.

Also, IMO, concerns about oxygenation from surface contact in the headspace with room air are
    completely overblown.

You are going to get as many answers as replies on this one. 1) You can lager in your primary.
Many people (including me) like to cold crash the primary to settle it, then rack it to a
    slightly smalle...

The last time I used 820 was two years ago. I remember it being slow, but that might just be a
general memory of some random lager. All lagers take a while to kick, even with that much yeast
    (the temp...
