Thanks guys. I ended up leaving my step mash at 158 for about 2 hours while i ran errands. Temp
didn't drop below 156 in that time. Hit 1080 on my OG so I think I'm good.

SWIMBO and the kids are demanding my presence in my ongoing efforts to be 2013 Father of the
Year. This will take up from about 11:00 to about 3. I have a giant slugo of Bock yeast that
    I've been mean...

they all have to be switched off, then on.

Well hell then. I guess I've been shorted on my other tanks.

kegs with this one tank. Including the "push out" of sanitizer / PBW. I've had a standby tank
    on hand fo...

Aggie Ring. It doubles as a bottle opener. Only takes 65 credit hours to acquire.

So like, we all agree that Bud Light Lime is the worst beer ever made and those who drink it
are stupid stupidheads who don't know anything, right? We can all agree on this? By the way, no
    "worst ever...

I'm thinking it's got to be the diastatic power of the grain being too low to convert. But I'm
nowhere near the chemistry guy on this forum.

  • Posted in thread: To go Secondary or not on 11-08-2012 at 07:22 PM
I really never understand this secondary business. Secondary in the keg. Your beer will clear
in the keg. Run a quarter glass out every day or so while it's carbonating to suck up settling
    material, b...
