Standard Electric entry and panels in North America are 120/240v. Most houses have a 200A
entrance and panel. 240v is used for everything that needs it, and 120v plugs and wiring are
    far less cumberso...

My impeller had that "bare spot" on the impeller when I disassembled it for cleaning before I
used the BM for the first time - which is why I assumed it was a balancing adjustment.

Thinking out loud here:Isn't the bare metal on one of the impeller vanes caused when they
remove some to balance the impeller?Occasionally they might require no balancing - hence no
    "bare' metal.

chiller may be to much for the hoses your using and use an ov glove of some sort so you don't

I figured out the issue. I tested the power cord with a multimeter and it's only pulling 120
volts.....Wow! I'm amazed that you achieved even those times/temperatures with only 500w
    (2000/4) of heat.

Are you running it on 110V? If you are then you would be cutting the wattage in half.Halving
the voltage of resistance heat elements results in 1/4 the wattage. I don't think this is the
    issue here. :...

I did three 6kg mashes and put all the speciality grains in the last run. My efficiency was
only about 35%, so I doubt I'll try this again. I'd rather just do a double mash and correct my
    pre boil gra...
