  • Started out splitting a random six pack a week with my SO. We eventually got hooked on Sierra Nevada's Torpedo. From there we sucked up any IPAs we could get our hands on and got stuck in the style for a while. We branched out to different styles, Saison, Browns, Porters and Stouts, and recently dipped our feet in a few Belgian style. Right now I prefer the darkest, thickest, blackest stouts out there and my SO prefers hoppy hoppy bitter bombs.

Only recently have I looked into homebrewing and have seen it's feasible. I can't wait to start brewing my own damn beer!

I brewed this up a few weeks ago and just bottled half of it. I put 2.5 gallons on 1 oz light
oak chips soaked in enough Makers Mark to cover them. It sat on the chips with 4 oz MM as well
    for 1 week....

a question of getting my resources together. Anyway I'm going to do 5 gallons approximately

I've been letting it stir for about 2 days at each level. I basically follow this wiki -

I think I've heard people having success with Bell's Amber. I'm just now building a stirplate
and wondering what your process is for stepping up, if you don't mind. How many times, how many
