I took a reading off the stem, it maxed out at about 250 degrees, and seem to dissipate fast...
meaning it didn't make the lamp or the wires hot.

I found it on Ebay a few weeks ago for 50 bucks. It controls the speed of the motor by
controlling the hertz from 0 to 60hz. motors rated at 60 which puts it at 177 rpm.OMG HBT Wins

Try a better wind block. I had great success by making one. Most hardware stores will sell
small sheet metal for just a few bucks... buy some and bolt it on.
