  • We got into home brewing recently, curiosity got ahold of us and we decided to give it a try... Well it took off! So now most of our house is filled with wine and beer... :) Right now we have a Irish stout going and we just bottled an American ale.. Red, apple, and apple raspberry wine making!

    You're reading the wrong scale. Read the one marked off with 10,20,30,40,etc with smaller lines
    in between those read as 2,4,6,8.Okay if I understood you correctly, It would be setting at
    26....

    Air lock activity or lack of doesn't mean its not fermenting. You need a hydrometer to
    determine that and if its in a bucket it might not bubble through the air lock at all as those

    And that 78F ferment temp is 10 degrees too high. But at higher temps,it should've been
    starting at 12 hours,ime.I sat it in the back room it is about 65 or so back there... Good ole
    winter days.:cros...
