1.7 vols is quite low on the carb scale. I wouldn't expect much once they are fully carbed. I'd
give them a good 3 weeks before you should really be able to tell your actual volume. RDWHAHB!

Eventually they will carbonate at that temperature. I'd recommend moving them to a warmer 70+
temp room for them to finish carbonating if you want to get to them a bit faster.

Chances are the ice crystals that formed punctured the yeast cells and killed them all.
Couldn't hurt to make a starter but I'd be VERY VERY surprised to see anything still alive in

The BYO resource guide for the malts is decent. For hops I only go by Bear-Flavored's Guide
here. It's the most complete guide I've found.

I don't think the length of hose or the shape going into the bucket will have any effect. The
coefficient of friction for gas is very negligible.It's not friction you have to worry about.
