Sounds like acetobactor.Star San and or boil everything you can. Disassemble everything you can
first. That way you get into every nook and cranny.

Of course I keep mead and wine for as long as can keep hands off of it. But as for beer I have
a 2 and half year old bottle of Holiday style English Ole Ale. That won't be getting much older

I tried some in oatmeal cookies. They came out great. I took out 1/2 cup of the sugar and
replaced it with 1 cup DME.Still sweet but with a good malt flavor.

Corn sugar is better, but in a pinch (like you're in) plain old sugar will work just fine.If
you were really stuck, you could even use honey. Pretty much any sugar, in the proper amount.
