- Did a 1/2 dozen batches about 10 years ago and have seen been playing with fermented foods and beverages on a small scale. I'm looking to get back into brewing of all types, but am most interested in inexpensive, simple things. I love to make and build project-type stuff that can help my brewing.

warm but in the 70s more like. This type of yeast definitely does not favor the 60s either.I

So... I like the idea, and I am going to try it plain and simple but of course I am already

So if I am going to do a long boil to drive off water, I assume that I boil until I get to my
standard pre-boil volume and then start the usual timers? Will there be undesirable effects on
the beer su...Posted in thread: 'Vintage' Cappers on 05-23-2012 at 09:09 PM

And oh yeah, this was my first batch for which I had done a starter.... I am quite upset at how
this batch turned out on its way into the fermenter.Posted in thread: Messed up mash water calculations on 05-20-2012 at 01:42 AM
I had used a few times before to calculate my mash water and strike temp. It had seemed to
work, but this time it was way off.I was brewing what should have been a nice dubbel, but ended
