- I got into homebrewing with basic homemade hard cider. (Sugar and yeast added to fresh cider from a local mill, put a balloon on top, sit for 30 days, enjoy). The next step for me was to Welch's frozen grape juice wine. I had a friend who made partial mash beer so he got me into that about 2 years ago. This past fall of 2011 I got into 'real' wine with freshly pressed grape juices from a local vineyard and home pressed fruit wines. I am now making the step to All-Grain beer and am really enjoying the process!

Okay, thanks for the quick reply. I don't see how I wouldn't need to get bubbles in my airlock
from an airtight bucket though. I've never not had airlock activity from a sealed fermenter. I
also would...Posted in thread: Strawberry beer fermentation issue? on 05-01-2012 at 03:36 PM

Hey just wondering if anyone is in the Elmira or Corning area out there. I am located in Elmira
and know a couple home brewers but was wondering if anyone else was around. Post here if you
are!Posted in thread: OK beer is in my basement for a week, tried one, taste good BUT NO CARB! on 04-22-2012 at 12:32 PM
Yep, get it into a warmer place. 70* is idealI completely agree. I condition mine in a dark
closet upstairs where the temp is pretty regularly 70. I get regular carbonation within 7-10
days every time...
