    Are you using the Star San as a cleaner? If I remember right 1 step is a cleaner. Star San is a
    sanitizer only, for cleaning you will need something similar to PBW.

    I found when I had commercial kegs on tap I was running closer to 4psi. I had no problems with
    mine. I dont remember it going above 10 at any point. Could just be me though.

    You should be able to pump the keg dry. Make sure that you reconnected the coupler properly.
    When you added CO2 again did you hear it going in to the keg?
