    ABOUT ME

  • Tucson
  • Software Engineer
  • My wife bought me a start up kit for Christmas of 2008 after I mentioned once or twice that it would be cool to try out. I've done only a few extract batches, but already have the itch to go all grain. I've been reading HBT and researching like crazy in an attempt to learn as much as I can to make my first AG go as smoothly as possible. Can't wait!

I have some Eva-Drys. They are just in the other refrigerator at the moment.

I think the Perlicks are going back to keg connection. Just waiting on the new ones now.

The drip tray is removable. These faucets don't drip exactly line up where the Perlicks did, so
I tilted it so that the drips would flow into the tray. The wood is perfectly flat. Just a

The kegerator is almost complete. I started out with a Frigidaire Model FRC445GB. I saw this
conversion on homebrewtalk.com , so I knew ball lock corny kegs could fit. I used the fridge

Bumping this thread. I just attempted installing new 525ss on a new tower shank this weekend,
and they leaked. I'm going to get with the store I bought them from and attempt to work
    something out.

I went to price out the copper tubing for the tap tower and was blown away. The only box of
soft copper I could find at home depot was over $100. So maybe I'll try the blower fan option.
    For now I'm j...

    2. I don't think single tiers make a lot of sense anymore. HLT up high, mash and BK down low.
No reason to force a second pump when the HLT is basically hands off. Every time I hook up a

I spray it down with sanitizer. The back end is sanitary enough for me, as it's been exposed to
the boiling wort.-JoeDo you worry at all about the interior of the ball valve, since you are

For #1 and #2, yes, add a bleeder valve. You will be happy. For my HLT pump I use a regular
acetal gate valve. For my main wort-moving pump I added a tri-clamp fitting, which I can use to
    pump to my f...
