    Yes, you can start steeping when the water is heating up. I used to add steeping grains at 150F
    and steep for 30 minutes not letting temperature go above 170F. I got that information from

    But I certainly like the previous ideas of making 2 beers out of your kit. Adding some cane
    sugar to each will leave you with a dry finish. I'm going to play with it a minute.
