  • Posted in thread: Does rehydrating dried yeast increase lag time? on 05-14-2014 at 09:46 AM
    No one has mentioned the fact he added nutrient to his hydration water. For my money, that
    would upset the balance for yeast health and cause a lag. The nutrient would best be put into
    the boil, not t...

    No, do not add honey to the primary to cooled wort. At the very least, add it just before
    flameout so it hits pasteurizing temps. But regardless, you will not get any honey flavor out
    of it. Especiall...

    I second the reduction of honey malt. As for orange, zest in pot 5 minutes before flameout.

    Unless you absolutely have to (ie, only one fermenter and just got to have some beer right
    NOW), leave it be. Time will mellow most mistakes and what seemed to be maybe undrinkable
    becomes okay afer a...

    Interesting vid, but the poor schmuck never followed up with the bottling video, nor answered
    many persons questions. Any unhopped malt should work. Yes, the bottling process requires
    additional sugar...

    I don't think it is the SM because even unrinsed, you've diluted a minuscule amount. I suspect
    it is your recipe, but unless you post it, I can't be sure. Did you use any base malt? Or just
    caramel ma...

    Hello again, and thanks for your replies. Um yeah I think it was too warm when I pitched the
    yeast but right now is bubbling like there's no tomorrow! A lot of activity in the airlock. Im
    using a Cool...
