  • Brewing for 25+ years now. I got into brewing when I was in high school. I've always enjoyed making stuff myself and thought I could make beer as well. Read numerous, well a couple at that time, books about it and mentally prepared myself. Joined the military and didn't have time until a couple years later. Made my first batch with some old ingredients, didn't control fermentation temps and didn't really know what to expect. It was drinkable and I was hooked. Went through most of the equipment that seems everyone does. Made maybe three extract batches when I stepped up to AG. Been making most of my gear until I finally stepped up the Alpha Ruby. Future plans are opening a homebrew store to serve my local market which, surprisingly, has a ton of homebrewers. Eventually I want to start a brewery and incorporate the homebrew shop into that. Never want to give up my past, but also am looking for something to do into retirement.

At a bare minimum you want it attached to the side of the fermenter.This. I put my temp probe
next to my fermenter and surround with copious amounts of bubble wrap. Has worked fairly well
    thus far.

I boil the requisite amount of water in my wasserkocher and pour that into my warm flask that
already has my DME dissolved in a bit of hot water. No problems as of yet. I'd credit the guy

BTW jddevinn, that's a nice looking brew room you have there. Is it your garage? If so, what
