    ABOUT ME

  • Been brewing for twenty(something) years now.Back in my home state and brewing on a 1bbl system. In the area? Stop on by and share a beer.

  • AHA Lifetime Member, Brewers Of Okaloosa (BOO)
  • Brewing for 22+ years now. I got into brewing when I was in high school. I've always enjoyed making stuff myself and thought I could make beer as well. Read numerous, well a couple at that time, books about it and mentally prepared myself. Joined the military and didn't have time until a couple years later. Made my first batch with some old ingredients, didn't control fermentation temps and didn't really know what to expect. It was drinkable and I was hooked. Went through most of the equipment that seems everyone does. Made maybe three extract batches when I stepped up to AG. Been making most of my gear until I finally stepped up the Alpha Ruby. Future plans are opening a homebrew store to serve my local market which, surprisingly, has a ton of homebrewers. Eventually I want to start a brewery and incorporate the homebrew shop into that. Never want to give up my past, but also am looking for something to do into retirement.

I've heard .49 is the lowest you want to go with hand bending. There was an earlier thread on
here saying there was no way in hell you would be able to bend .20 by hand unless you wanted
    tons of kinks...

rack a tripel and I'm currently building another fermentor. So I won't brew until sept.I'll
    probably brew...

Is the need real or perceived? In a community of 22,000, is there enough community brewing
activity to support one? Well, I perceive it to be real. Just based on talking to about 40-50
    people. And wha...

I worked in a shop the size you would need in a small strip center in 1984 that had a monthly
rent of $500. I wonder what kind of place you can get for that rent 31 years later.I'm sure
    it's the same ...

5 days to go... $11,440 to go to meet the goal! Sorry, but I think you're going to find a new
plan to finance this..Good luck. Thanks, that is most helpful.

What are your plans for a POS system? Inventory management in a homebrew shop is a giant pain
in the a$$ so you are going to need a good one. Also, how do you plan to get involved with the
    local brewi...
