  • Brewing for 22+ years now. I got into brewing when I was in high school. I've always enjoyed making stuff myself and thought I could make beer as well. Read numerous, well a couple at that time, books about it and mentally prepared myself. Joined the military and didn't have time until a couple years later. Made my first batch with some old ingredients, didn't control fermentation temps and didn't really know what to expect. It was drinkable and I was hooked. Went through most of the equipment that seems everyone does. Made maybe three extract batches when I stepped up to AG. Been making most of my gear until I finally stepped up the Alpha Ruby. Future plans are opening a homebrew store to serve my local market which, surprisingly, has a ton of homebrewers. Eventually I want to start a brewery and incorporate the homebrew shop into that. Never want to give up my past, but also am looking for something to do into retirement.

I've used that yeast as well, and my Hefeweizen finished really dry. With mash temps just north
of yours. Next time I'll ferment lower, as I hovered around 70f. I'm thinking 63-65f next time
    around. M...

My problems are minimal. When it first happened, I couldn't stand for 3 days. That was about 5
years ago. Since then, I've never had that pain come back. I get achy often, and if I do heavy
    lifting I ...

I've got 2 herniated disks myself. Mine were probably caused by running I think. Sadly, my
running days are over. Are you going to have anything done about it? I didn't.I just had a

The first batch of Rare was something like 11-14k 22oz bottles and $45-55. So it is quite a bit
higher priced than 2010, but I doubt this one has over a million bottles.Hyperbole for sure.
    It's been s...

My point is that westy is one of the most hyped beers in the world and you can buy other
trappists much more easily and cheaply that are pretty close to the same beer(s). I'm not
    lining up for rare, p...
