    ABOUT ME

  • New to homebrewing (since Jan '12 I think) with a Mr. Beer. By April, I had two 5 gallon setups, a 6 gal better bottle, and a corny keg setup, along with the Mr. Beer still, haha. This is an addictive hobby!

Selling a couple corny kegs. Good condition, except for some dents near the top of one. Both
hold pressure. Prefer local pickup, but will ship for extra. $50 each.

Congrats on your 2nd AG. One question, since you boiled outside, why not do the mash/lauter
outside too? This way you can have the kettle on the burner and once you collect a few gallons
    you can start...

Haha, actually married, but I brewed while she was at work for the day. I'm very careful so as
not to make a mess (makes for easier cleanup too). And she wouldn't mind me mashing indoors
    anyway, she u...

Thanks for the info. Chilling the keg isn't really a possibility right now. I have a plate
chiller, wondering if I can use that somehow. Would have to be jockey box style though, since
    keg is in basem...

So, my last AG brew day was kind of a disaster. Couldn't get the boil going, OG was way under,
all sorts of issues. Today went far smoother. It's nice out (started lightly raining at end of
    boil last ...

I started kegging with my last batch. Unfortunately, I don't have a kegerator yet (gonna be a
while before my wife lets me, haha). So, for now, I fill a growler to leave in the fridge. The
    first probl...

Interesting, I may try that. And good point. It does fall right into the style guide. It was a
learning experience, as all first batches are, haha. As long as it's drinkable, life is ok.

I didn't think to measure pre-boil gravity, will have to do that next time. It calls for an
estimated pre-boil of 1.055. I mashed at 155 for 60 mins. Batch sparged. Took my liquid amount
    from beersmit...
