- My sister sent me a kit from Brooklyn Brew Shop as a Christmas gift, and I figured since I've always talked to my wife about brewing, it was time to put up or shut up.
- Once I get the hang of the procedures, I'd like to make some wheat beers, mainly Germanic or Belgian. I would like to give a pumpkin ale or a chocolate stout/porter a shot sometime in the future.

My wife bought an iPad for me as an early birthday present, and I want to use it for more than
games and Skype with my family. Any recommendations on brewing apps that would give me the most
bang for ...Posted in thread: conducting an experiment between bread yeast vs sweet mead yeast in mead on 12-25-2012 at 02:59 PM
Joe wins again... The recipe is a staple for a reason. Plenty of people try to swap out the
bread yeast for wine yeast, thinking that they can outsmart Joe, who explicitly says don't do
it.I agree, my...Posted in thread: conducting an experiment between bread yeast vs sweet mead yeast in mead on 12-24-2012 at 02:16 AM
Well, opened them up tonight for the family Christmas party. The bread yeast batch was pretty

Looking to do this today, and my pumpkin has sprung a small leak on the bottom. Think chopping
it up, roasting with brown sugar and tossing it in the primary would be a good idea?Posted in thread: longest time you've kept beer in the primary? on 08-28-2012 at 02:55 PM

Let's say, hypothetically, some of my family back home in St. Louis would like to try some of
my brews at Christmas. And driving out there with the car loaded up, in this scenario, isn't an
option. Hy...Posted in thread: conducting an experiment between bread yeast vs sweet mead yeast in mead on 07-26-2012 at 02:50 PM
It can, but the reading needs to be adjusted based on the OG.Fortunately I was able to get

Anybody have some experience with one?Posted in thread: conducting an experiment between bread yeast vs sweet mead yeast in mead on 07-23-2012 at 08:48 PM
