20 minutes into the mash the pump failed. They're sending a replacement. Meanwhile I guess I'll
finish the brew day without recirculating! I'm mashing out now, and stirring.

Sorry to bump this old post but I just put together the same rig - with the newer "wart hog"
controller and the temperature probe mounted in the kettle. Also a different pump. I checked
for leaks etc ...

My hopped up stout is around 1.060 and 90 ibus. My tip is keep the mash temp low, thick bodied
stout doesn't work imho when you want it hop forward.

I sold my igloo cooler mash tun with all the pots I use, heat sticks I made, tubing, induction
burner etc to buy a high gravity 10 gal electric biab rig. Seems like a perfect system for me
