Although it's android only, I recommend Wort very highly. Great phone or tablet based app with
accurate calculations and recipe building for biab, 3v, and extract

By all means, use the idea and improve on it. That's what these boards are for. I thought of a
layer of reflectix on both sides of the foam if you want a starting place for possible
    modifications

applied during mash to maintain temp for a little over an hour.

I want to report to the board on a great means of insulating for mash that I tried out today
for the first time. I created an insulating jacket for my kettle out of a 1.5" thick closed

Just received my order! Very high quality stitching, very fine mesh - much better than the bag
from my lhbs I'd been using. Looking forward to using it, and shipping was prompt! Thanks

Well, my attempt at brewing a lower-alcohol version of this beer was undone by the yeast. I
came in a little lower on my OG, by design, at 1.057. However, after three weeks at 70-72F,
    I've settled in ...

So here's my plan for "detuning" this recipe down to about 1.050-1.053 OG, which should net me
an ABV in the 5.7-6.3% range. I manage around 80% efficiency with my BIAB
    system.Grain/Sugars:7.0 lbs. Pi...

Brad from BeerSmith did a podcast recently on this style. Lots of general technique pointers
for brewing the style. Really made me want a Duvel when I was finished listening to it, but my
    local place ...

I'm going to brew this this weekend, but looking for a finished beer with a little less kick.
By my calculations, dropping the Pils to 7# should bring OG down around 1.050, settling my abv
    closer to 6...
