If you have cats and a keezer, here is a potential solution! This is just a mock up before I
spend time to make it less ugly.

If your water tastes good, then I wouldn't change it. BIAB - I do not filter and my beers are
clear, and yes, I do 10 gallon batches.Yeast starters - will help your fermentation start
    quicker and the ...

Thanks! I think I am going to go with a 5" spacing. The pic above is 4" and it feels too close.

Hey Congrats on the new pot - 94 bucks for a ten gallon, thick walled pot doesn't seem too bad.
Kettles new without a bulkhead are usually a bit more than that. It shouldn't be too thick for

  • Posted in thread: Wheat beer dropped clear in bottle after 1 week? on 08-16-2013 at 11:41 PM
All of the wheat beers that I've brewed have been really quite clear. I only primary, and
usually for 3-5 weeks. I've never found a taste problem with them - SWMBO keeps asking me to
    brew more!:)

I would skip the secondary and just let it sit 1 more week in the primary. The yeast will clean
up the beer a bit more. I think you just need to use your hydrometer over a few days and see if
    it drops...

Nicely done! Very efficient design at a low cost it seems.

I wound up using a 10/32 screw with nuts to adjust the spacing. As far as centering it was
really trial and error until it didn't throw the stir bar as often. The washer is great as it
    gives metal for...
