Started brewing in 96 and brewed steadily for about 4 years. Had to stop due to "life". Finally after 9 years I have returned to the wonderful obsession of homebrew.
I am mainly a Partial Mash and Extract brewer. I used to do All Grain brews but no longer have time or the equipment. I would like to start lagering and kegging, hopefully this year, - Diabolic (HG) Ale, Porter, Cream Ale, Smoked Apple
- Smoke Maple Nut Brown
- Don't Call Me Honey - Championship Edition
- FUAD Cider, Flat Tire, Holiday Monster, Quattro Gold

A fermenter is like a woman. Sometimes it might not smell the best, but you still wanna go
there ....Brilliant :rockin:Posted in thread: books? on 01-07-2010 at 07:27 PM
Check your local library, you'd be surprised at what you might find. Plus you can preview the
books and find ones worth your time and investment.Posted in thread: Good Piece On Extract Brewing... on 12-14-2009 at 06:05 PM
Thanks, that was a good (and educational) read. I had no idea there were breweries out there
that used all extract procedures.Posted in thread: Heinous low FG on 12-14-2009 at 05:38 PM
Your hydrometer may need calibration. What was the temp when you took a reading?Posted in thread: Why Autosiphon? on 12-10-2009 at 05:49 PM
I just started using one after 8 batches of beer because sometimes when you are nearing the
bottom I will lose the siphon when watching for sediment. It is easier to get started again.
Exactly :DPosted in thread: High final gravity = less priming sugar? on 11-24-2009 at 09:45 PM
It sounds like your fermentation was going fine. Give the yeast some time to finish doing it's
thing and check your FG when it's closer to bottling time.Posted in thread: boil vs. no-boil on 11-24-2009 at 09:40 PM
Its kind of like eating 'EasyMac'(tm) vs. Home made Mac and Cheese - sure both will cure your
hunger but one is mobettah. Good analogy!!Anyway, I have never done a kit beer but I seem to
recall Charli...
