  • started jan 2011 with a couple of extract/partial mash kits and then moved to all grain. Ive really have gotten hooked! Now after about a year and a few months 170 gallons later i've started to build a single tier brew stand. I hope to have it up and running in the next few weeks. Its been hard to restrain myself from making big giant beers but ive been slowly backing down the numbers and trying to refine the process and just make good beer. Its been really engrossing and super satisfying and im starting to meet fellow brewers and sharing experiences and beer of course..way cool..

I brew 15 batches a year. I go through between 3 and 4 02 cylinders a year. Thats give or take
50 bucks in 02. That said, a batch costs me around 50 bucks when I add gas, hops and malt. I
    feel like fo...

I really surprises me that this olive oil idea has as much traction as it does. Grady Hull's
thesis is scientifically flawed and inconclusive, the maltose falcon's experiments conclude
    that there real...

I have had the same experience with 1450. Seems like the fermentation was steady yet
slow, lasting about 8 days. That said, the beer was fantastic and very clean. This stran gives a
    great mouth feel ev...

Cold crashed it for three days and it was still rather murky ..... 1056 flocc's poorly too.
After a few weeks in the keg perhaps it will clean up.

For the last two years ive been using one variation of the "chico" strain, 1056, o5 or wlp 01.
A buddy of mine busted out a delicious pumpkin beer this fall ( dont like pumpkin beer) and it

Ive got ten gallons of IPA cracking away rite now on a 4l starter of Denny's, fermenting at 65*
for four days with very even activity. When using the same recipe and same temp and same size
    starter 10...

When i see swmbo in an otherwise thoughtful post i feel It robs the post of its intelligence.

I wonder if you mean no coco nibs ,no bourbon ,no oak chips ... no raspberries ..this recipe
looks great.. and the picks are good as well.
