- I was given a Mr Beer kit some 10+ years ago as a gift. Little did I know that gift would spark this crazy obsession that has consumed many a weekend and more $'s than I will ever admit to.
- Well, Hurricane Irene (2011) pretty much put the whole brewing hobby on hold while we re-build the brew shed (12'X20') that was destroyed by a fallen tree. Most of the equipment suffered only dents and scratches. Thank goodness! The down time has allowed me to do several upgrades and changes I wished I had done the first time. Hence the "insulated and finished" brew shed, upgraded power (80 amps), and new equipment. I've done alot of the DIY projects to include a CFC, Stir-Plate, Site glasses, etched carboys, a 3 tap keezer, a dual temp controlled fermentation chamber (both with very cool "chalk board" paint), custom tap handles (white lab vials), stainless dip tubes, and prolly many more I've forgotten about. Hi, my name is Paul, and I'm an addict.

I've been a reefer for 25 years. Sorta got out of it when my tank crashed about 3 years ago
(lost most coral, fish are OK), but in the last few weeks I've been messing with it again. I've

No harm at in in using DI water. Its just unnecessary to get brewing water that mineral-free.
You do want those minerals in your brewing water and will likely add some back in. The utility
of RO water...Posted in thread: Merging two hobbies, RO/DI & Beer on 01-15-2013 at 05:09 PM
