  • I have been homebrewing since the beginning of 2011 from reading stories on the net & friends who had brewed in the past. Have only done extract & partial-mash brews. I have brewed 7 5 gallon batches made from kits ordered from Austin's Homebrew Supply, all with great results. Using a turkey fryer for my boils, plastic fermentor, rack to secondary glass carboy, & then bottle.rnrnTowards the end of my first year of brewing, I started doing all-grain brewing & also am now kegging along with bottling.

I just kegged a beer this weekend that I cold crashed & then dry hopped. It was the first time
I did it in that order; I usually dry hop before crashing. Beer was cold crashed first of last
    week, dry ...

We just had to put this guy down a few weeks ago. Bear was 16 1/2 but had suffered with a bad

Here's one from this past summer but it hasn't changed much. My wife likes it thick so I don't
have to spend much time in front of a mirror, which is good because I am lazy when it comes to
    shaving. O...

Sitting on the back porch, having a picking party with my buddies along with our wives, while
cooking something on the grill. This is not a dream but it doesn't happen as often as I would
    like it to. ...

After reading through this thread I decided to concentrate on my batch sparging technique on an

I was not a big fan of the bitterness of some IPA's, some I liked though. In particular, I
bought a sixer of Lagunitas IPA several years ago & just couldn't make myself like it. As the

Smoked a small pork shoulder yesterday, mainly for the freezer for us to eat later. This
morning smoked a 13 lb turkey that I brined yesterday & rubbed with a cajun/jerk rub that I
    concocted with spic...
