  • I'm originally from Upstate NY and went to College in Syracuse. This is where I started catching the craft beer "buzz". I moved to Fayetteville in 2010 to start my career, as a Physical Therapist. Things have gone well with this and in October of last year I opened a clinic in town. The adventure of opening and running a new clinic drastically reduced my brewing time but things have calmed some and now I am able to "play" again.

So I have recently moved into a town home where the only available 240 outlet is 3 prong. I
have a perfectly good e-herms control panel that I was using in my previous home that was 4.

I just ordered 5 different extracts from capella. I'm going to brew 6 gallons of this stuff and
use the ringwood yeast for fermentation. I'll then divide this up into six 1 gallon secondaries

SSRs are meant to run fairly warm since that's their function. Even though the heat sink will
wick away all or most of the heat, the rest of the SSR can still get warm. The issue that would

Nice build! Can you provide more details on how you mounted the water heater element in your
HLT.I pretty much followed Kal's guide but decided to use a single-gang box instead of 2-gang.
    I felt it wo...

I noticed that you have your SSR and heatsink mounted to the DIN rail. Any issues with the heat
so far?Not a bit. I've reached in to touch right after the MASH/sparge after it's turned off. I

I put together the water filtration system finally. Cost for everything was $60.85. It was very
simple to put together. I got the RV hose and filter on Amazon and the rest from Lowes. It was
    a fun lit...

I did without issues. I soldered and used heat shrink wrap. Accuracy was spot on once I fired
    up the PID.Corey

Update... I got some vinyl lettering to go on the keg. I think it adds a little something to
it. I should have polished it but I didn't think i had it in me.
