  • One day I was talking to a coworker about hobbies etc and I mentioned that I was interested in beer brewing and thinking of purchasing a kit. As it turns out my coworker had brewed back in the day but due to moving had since given it up. He gave me all his equipment and soon after I started brewing!

I made 2 coopers kits to start out with. One a Blue Moon clone with just pre-hopped LME and another a stout with pre-hopped LME and DME. Both were kinda meh-ey and both had a similar "extract" taste. (well i think/hope it was an extract taste lol)

Due to life taking over, i took about a year off from brewing and now am just getting back into it. Brewed a few PM's and some Extracts and just finally took the leap into All Grain.... its still a work in progress but hopefully I made an OK beer.

+1 on the 10gal pot... my 8gal gets pretty full during a full boil and I have to watch it like
a hawk and turn the gas on and off until it gets going.I'd invest in a way to control
    fermentation temps ...

I have the same one. Def +1 to the preheat... I also put a blanket on top of mine during the
mash to try to help a little bit more. I used aquarium silicone and some SS washers. here's the
    silicone: ...

Brewed this beer previously with great results... Def. the best beer I have made yet. How do
you think this beer would be effected if I use the Trappist WLP500 or WLP530? I wanted to brew
    this beer us...

I'll be there... I think it's run by/through beerheads so hopefully it won't be too much of a
CF. They run another Beer on the Peir which I thought was pretty good when I went a few years
