  • One day I was talking to a coworker about hobbies etc and I mentioned that I was interested in beer brewing and thinking of purchasing a kit. As it turns out my coworker had brewed back in the day but due to moving had since given it up. He gave me all his equipment and soon after I started brewing! rnrnI made 2 coopers kits to start out with. One a Blue Moon clone with just pre-hopped LME and another a stout with pre-hopped LME and DME. Both were kinda meh-ey and both had a similar "extract" taste. (well i think/hope it was an extract taste lol)

    +1 on the 10gal pot... my 8gal gets pretty full during a full boil and I have to watch it like
    a hawk and turn the gas on and off until it gets going.I'd invest in a way to control
    fermentation temps ...

    That being said it looks like you can get Vinegar barrels that are untoasted if thats what
    you're looking for.
