  • Was first introduced to homebrewing when I was little and my mother bought my dad a kit for Christmas. We got to help bottle, which was always fun.

Years later, some of my college friends started brewing, so I got involved, too. Now I'm out of college and working full time, and only brewing every so often. Currently I'm working with a lot of borrowed equipment, though I'm capable of doing a 10-gallon batch using multiple pots if I have to.

  • Don't really secondary much anymore, unless I'm racking something over fruit or honey or somesuch. A nice long primary and overpitching makes beer just as good as a secondary.

Yikes, I need to check this thread more often! If you're using whole cloves I'd advise using
*more*, not less, as your flavor extraction is improved with more surface area. Powdered cloves

So I brewed up a batch of Liquid Stupid this past weekend and was only able to chill it to the
upper 90's due to warm groundwater. I pitched 2 packets of T-58, said a brief prayer to the
    brewing gods,...

Where in MD are you? There's a LHBS in Newark, DE that you could go to if it's not too far.
