  • I started brewing a few years ago; with a mr beer i got as a gag gift(but actually ended up wearing it out) and its been a bit of an obsession ever since. I'm from San Diego and relocated to Austin for school.I just finished culinary school and currently work @ Austin Homebrew Supply. I'm mostly a mini-mash brewer(just not set up for allgrain). I love most belgain and old style german brews and of course west coast i.p.a.'s (being from S.D) anyway, if you live local and have a question come by the shop, or shoot me a message just to say hey..
  • My own experiment--Calling it Devils Forbidden fruit:
    AHS devilsbrew recipe(using wyeast forbidden fruit yeast instead of belgian) theeen added 2 quarts of pear juice theeen im going to dry hop 1/2 crystal and

    a Bavarian Hef with sweet orange peel and ginger

    I"m sooo glad i found this post! I just added 2 qt of pear juice to a dubbel belgian base
    recipe after activity yet but its in a very cool air conditioned area so ikm
    thinking its a slow ...

    If youre that close.....your yeast will be fine...dont forget to order the cold pack!..if
    you're all that worried consider ordering a dry yeast like us-05 as a backup. Or make a
    starter..starters are ...

    my blue moon clone recipie has corriander(an ounce i think..the recipie isnt in front of me)
    but it gives a great spicy note to the beer.
