    ABOUT ME

  • New to home brewing but loving every minute of it. I want to someday work for a brewery and maybe even start up my own!
  • Ryan
  • Alternative, Classic Rock, 90's hip hop.
  • Boondock Saints, Kill Bill, Saving Private Ryan, Star Wars.
  • Cops, Jail, UFC, a select few reality shows.
  • Wizard of Oz
  • I got into Craft Brews through the 91x Morning Show (specifically their beer for breakfast segment) with some help from the delicious Karl Strauss Red Trolley Ale. So I decided to do some research on Beer Advocate and bought the Complete Joy of Home brewing at Ballast Point. After that I jumped in with a Pale Ale and it's been love ever since.
  • Stouts, IPAs, maybe go for a Cider or a Hard Lemonade. I just want to explore all styles of beer and brewing. I want to make them all!

What part of Wyeast 2278 did you not understand? That yeast does best between 50-58°Come at me
bro. I was drunk when I asked this question. Yeah you'll have to warm it up a bit.

Im new myself so I may not be 100% correct but I was under the impression that your not
supposed to squeeze your grain bag as it will release bad flavors. That is under review I

  • Posted in thread: Hops Question - American IPA on 02-04-2012 at 03:04 PM
Recipe looks good. Definitely less crystal. I don't use crystal in my IPAs. if I do about a
half pound. Also I'd suggest (next time) using a technique called hop bursting, requires more
    hops but allow...

Recipe looks good.I think what Scruffy was getting at is that there's an inverse relationship
between bittering and caramel malts, including cara-pils. To obtain maximum bitterness, you

I think that was Pojo. Couldn't tell if he was kidding or not.Yes, and everyone vowed never to
exchange beer with him. It was a day of realization. You never know what's in someone elses
    homebrew. Lol
