If you are making 2 gallons, you will need at least a 4 gallon fermenter to perform your
primary fermentation with the fruit. Is this your first brew?

Founders Porter is my favorite. The regular dry hopped pale ale is much better than the ADIPA
IMO and still very drinkable. Old Curmudgeon was pretty good but it's a late night heavy
    drinker for me.

Has anyone tried the "Cooperstown Ale" from OMMEGANG? It's simply amazing! It's a Belgian
blonde and I am going to try to replicate it but need some advice. On the bottle it says brewed

Well they're not on the surface of the water, but they aren't completely sunk either

  • Posted in thread: Metal flakes in corny on 06-02-2014 at 03:51 PM
I recently bought a lot of 4 used corny kegs and after using some PBW on them, I have been
finding metal flakes floating in the solution. Anybody else experience this?

My LHBS told me there isn't much of a difference other than that the wine bases tend to be more
chunks of fruit vs purée. It's my understanding VH is a company operated under Oregon fruit. If
    you go t...

Ok cool, that makes more sense. So basically, this can of purée is like 6.5lbs of blackberries.
Schramm says in his book 8lbs+ Of raspberries in a 5 gallon batch of mead will give you a
    strong fruit c...

I read in Schramm's book that using a muslin bag on both ends of a siphon work well In
filtering out particles of fruit. I'll probly try that instead of putting the fruit itself in a
    bag. Still not su...

2 years later... How did this turn out? I'm trying to decide what fruit I want to add to my
Hefe. I'm torn between raspberry, strawberry, apricot. I wanted to make a blood orange Hefe but
    turns out th...

Wow 3 cans total!? At $20 per can that sounds quite expensive. I didn't realize the ratio
favored fresh fruit. I was assuming the purée was more concentrated than the fruit itself
