That is quite the trip wire you set up there. Hope that was just for the pic and not how you
leave it on brew day. Yikes. The blichmann burner does rock though.

Looks like the beginnings of an infection to me. Are you bottling or kegging?

My wife left the bed and slept on the couch the other night because she said I was farting in
my sleep. I slept great. More home brew for me!

It must be true, I can imagine with such a constant flow of water that the grains must be
thoroughly soaked of their sugar, have you ever thought about doing a super thin mash (>3qt/lb)
    without a spar...

I recirc my RIMS at ~1gpm from a 15G Blichmann with false bottom. I used to lauter at 1 qt/min,
but found i got exactly the same efficiency running at 1gpm.

I have to (partially) disagree with some of the previous posts on keeping your OG low. While I
think "bigger is better" is not compatible with lagers, you can still achieve the same
    attenuation as an ...

I was thinking possibly the Vienna route. Is it simply all vienna malt for the malt bill? You
could do 100% vienna. Might even be worthwhile to make yourself a SMaSH vienna to learn the
    grain and hops....

This was my last Marzen recipe and it's very good, although I wouldn't enter it into a
competition because I think it is slightly out of style.1.055G for 11G9.5 lb Pilsner 2 L9.0 lb
    Dark Munich 9 L1...

My suggestion is start with an octoberfest. Keep the OG down.^^^This is some of the best lager
recipe advice there is. 1.045-1.055 is really the sweet spot for lagers. Doppelbock is one of
    the few exc...
