There are a lot of things that can cause a fermentation to stall. Racking into a secondary
before primary fermentation was complete is a likely culprit or at least part of the problem.

You will have enough to finish the beer but you won't have the "ideal" amount or what the
recommended amount is. Mr. Malty calculator recommends 192 billion cells which would be about
1.75 Liter start...

you are likely fine. Starters taste and smell a bit different then a hopped beer so I wouldn't
put too much faith in a smell test unless it smells like complete ass or something like that.

Are the yeast packs from July (It wasn't clear if the yeast was fresh or if you bought them
with the kits. If the yeast was purchased last July it would not be at all unusual for the

Looks fine. Put the cover back on and leave it alone. After 2 weeks take a fg reading and
bottle. Fermentation can be ugly. 99 times out of 100 it will turn out fine.

I do it all the time. Going to a cylindroconical was one of those things that gave a dramatic
boost in quality to my beer. Contact between yeast and beer is not an issue as during the
