  • Posted in thread: Arduino Based Brew Controller on 12-04-2015 at 07:05 PM
I'm in a similar spot as you having half started this project once for an espresso machine, and
again for rims a year or so again. Did you look into any of the open source projects that
    already do thi...

  • Posted in thread: Anyone getting (got) a Synek? on 12-04-2015 at 07:02 PM
I filled bag with CO2 at Med, refilled it next day because it had absorbed some into beer. It
was a bit squishy again today, but I went ahead and attached the back to the machine...It
    sounds like you...

  • Posted in thread: Small n Automated on 12-04-2015 at 06:46 PM
I'm surprised no one has mentioned the picobrew pico. It brews 5L batches, and it's fully
automated up until the chill (unless you no-chill I
    guess.)https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1708005089/pic...

  • Posted in thread: picobrew zymatic questions on 12-04-2015 at 06:30 PM
I think that the grainfather has a nice product but it requires more involvement than the
zymatic. How much time & interest you can have with your brew should determine your choice.
    From what I read t...

  • Posted in thread: Beer Smith or Beer Friend?? on 12-03-2015 at 11:25 PM
I've never used brewers friend, but I don't regret buying beersmith one bit. It has so many
features that I don't use yet - I've got a lot of room to grow before I even utilize it fully.

  • Posted in thread: Help modifying a 12 point 13/16" socket for pin lock keg on 12-03-2015 at 11:22 PM
I ended up putting the socket on the best I could and marked the location of the pins with a
sharpie. Then used a cutoff wheel in my Dremel to cut the slots. Checking fit as often as I
    could.I did th...

  • Posted in thread: Low BTUs- pump pure O2 into the burner?? on 12-03-2015 at 11:02 PM
I think we've already beaten this subject dead - I'd only add that the o2 cost would quickly
add up to the price of a nicer propane burner. Consider just getting one with more btus or
    shielding it bet...

  • Posted in thread: Can I get some feedback on a RIMS Build? on 12-03-2015 at 10:59 PM
If you aren't looking to spend a ton of coin then you could focus on simply hitting your
initial mash temp better. I used an anova sous vide machine (shaped like an immersion blender)
    on my last brew ...

  • Posted in thread: Wifi Digital Hydrometer on 12-03-2015 at 10:46 PM
I have always wondered about just putting a hydrometer in the primary (obviously talking about
a carboy here). Then I wouldn't have to touch it to find out the gravity. Only problem I see it
    the CO2 b...

  • Posted in thread: Aquaculture Project to Re-utilize Trub - Sustainable Brewing Techniques? on 12-03-2015 at 10:43 PM
I love the idea that you could scale it up into 4 big tanks, or 4 large ponds. Potentially you
could even set them up to run off into each other and then you could self-level just by
    discharging more ...
