- I've been a fan of beer for as long as I can remember; a sip from my dad and uncles as a kid here and there. All that good stuff. rnrnLast year, I was in Sams and my ex-wife pointed out Mr. Beer. She asked if I wanted that for Christmas. The idea immediately appealed to me. What beer lover wouldn't at least consider the idea of making their own beer if it was easy and cheap enough? I held off and did some research. I decided to go a step up and try a Coopers DIY Kit.rnrnI got bored pretty quickly with the base recipes and have moved into adding fruit, grains, hops, and such to improve on the kits.rnrnI figure in time, I'll move onto unhopped extract brewing. For now, I have a ton of kits from Christmas so I'll use all of them before I move forward.

tea and another 1-2 ounces in a dry hop for 7 days for a nice and hoppy IPA with a very
American IPA flav...Posted in thread: Bottle Conditioning Time for Wheat Beers on 06-29-2012 at 07:24 PM
I condition everything in the bottle for a minimum of 3 weeks, even low ABV brews. I let
stronger brews sit longer than that.Posted in thread: Incredibly strong IPA - Help! on 06-29-2012 at 07:20 PM
The can + 3 lbs of dry malt extract or 3.3 pounds of liquid malt extract is pretty much the
standard. Adding 3/4 lbs. of additional sugars should have little or no affect on the flavor. I

I use Coopers cans for most of my brews as a base. I usually add specialty grains, hops, other

I frequently use Coopers and Muntons cans as a base for brews. By adding hops, specialty
grains, and using different yeasts; one can create excellent beers with these kits. My friends
