    ABOUT ME

  • I started brewing January 1, 2011. Bought myself some equipment for Christmas. I decided to begin brewing my own because I love beer and wanted to learn more about it. A couple of my friends brew and watching them got me thinking about it. I upgraded and built some stuff. I brew with a 10gallon SS kettle on a propane burner. Old coleman 8 gallon cooler. Sanke keg HLT. Ball valves. Copper manifold. Charcoal water filtartion system. 25ft copper IC. Carboys. Chest freezer ferementation chamber. I bottle but am in the process of building a keezer. All Grain, formulate my own recipes with mixed success.
  • Barleywine, IPA, Stout, Pale Ale, all of my own creation. Wish me luck.

Also, I cap each beer as I fill them. Less chance of something getting in them.I fermented a
Black IPA at 72 and its undrinkable. Fusels.

The temps your at are high even for ales(except belgians). Simple way of keeping temps down is
a swamp bucket. I've never done it with a lager but I've had great success with ales. Get a
    plastic tub, ...

I didn't have an answer to this question until a few weeks a go. I had a Schell's Goosetown. I
could not have more than a couple drinks of that. Never again.

Do I skip the protein and just do a beta and sach, or do I mash a beta, protein, and sach?
