This finishes really sweet and is designed to. I have made a ton of variants of this and still
have 6 bottles left from my first batch that are now 2 years old. Adding raspberries to the
    recipe comes ...

Nope. It will be fine as everything is properly sanitized. I regularly pitch it the next day
since I don't always get it to pitching temps immediately and I just cool it off in my
    fermentation chamber...

  • Posted in thread: Challenger VI dip tube O rings on 11-20-2014 at 12:22 AM
Do the standard lid o-rings work for these type of kegs? I just got a Challenger VI for $25,
and it needs extensive renovation. It looks like whatever was left in it dried out 15 years ago
    and left a ...

This thread is interesting. I always thought using a keg filled with co2 would be a good way to
make a time chamber and keep oxygen from decomposing whatever was put inside. A few bottles

I just got a small aluminum oxygen tank at an estate sale that is still holding 2000 psi, but
it expired in 1998. Should it still be fine to use then? I may do a test batch of mead or

were near the top of the mash tun while the regular grain was mostly at the bottom. THat may
    have affected ...

I measured my Russian Imperial Stout Mash PH at 4.18 yesterday. It had 19 lbs of British 2-row
and 4 lbs of specialty malts. Would there be any normal reason it would be this low. I have not

I am not sure if you had tried emailing Grant Wood with your recipe, but he could probably give
you some tips on what is in there and what isn't. He has stopped at the cap and hare homebrew
    club in fo...

I think this was the first mead I tried a few years ago at my friends place in Austin. Had some
over the weekend at 4 years old and now know what recipe it was. This stuff is fantastic. I
    will get sta...

To anyone interested in one of these pots, check out the Texas Brewing pots at my LHBS. I will
be buying one soon and these have welded ports for less money than the Bayou classic pots. 15
