I just racked over my batch that sat for almost 2 years with cherries added instead of grapes
the other day and it tastes amazing. I have been lazy on racking my meads lately. The batch I

My first batch of this was very astringent and the coffee flavor hasn't ever gone away after a
year and a half. Some bottles have come out completely amazing, while some have been
    lackluster. I used s...

    days each or ...

I plan on brewing this later tonight and have made it before. My last version was really
astringent and some bottles have seemed to be amazing, while some others did not seem to age
    well. I still have...

  • Posted in thread: Orange Zest Melts Plastic on 03-11-2015 at 05:59 PM
I will confirm that it is plastic #6. Orange Zest melts polystyrene. Should I toss all the
melted plastic then? It was a tasting I glass I measured it out with, and also the lid to a
    digital scale.

I want to brew this in the future so I will add to this discussion as a reminder to get to it
sometime. In regards to rousing yeast, I made the Czar's Revenge RIS recipe in Brewing Classic

After making a couple beers that used orange zest, I figured out orange zest melts plastic. I
weighed the orange zest using plastic cups and I noticed that the plastic became cloudy and was
    visibly pi...
