  • Posted in thread: PIDs, furnace valves, and duty cycles. on 04-01-2013 at 12:22 AM
    I've dug a bit through the forums and I haven't seen anybody address this question. What is the
    ideal range duty cycle for using PIDs to run typical gas furnace valves like the Honeywell
    VR8200? How l...

    I don't use that type of system, but yes, you would need an ignition control for each valve.I
    assume, you need an ignitor system like that for each valve? Do you use it's type of system
    too?

    I guess I wasn't clear. Yes, I mean glucose.C6H12O6 -> 2 C2H5OH + 2 CO2 + 235 kJ/molSucrose
    is:C12H22O11 + H2O -> 4 C2H5OH + 4 CO2 + 425 kJ/molYou can do any other sugar you want and get

    I know I'm raising a zombie here, but since I've been going over this problem over and over
    again for a peltier build I thought I'd share with people what I think is a better answer to
    this question.G...

    My safety concern is that there is no test for failed ignition in this setup. It is possible to
    have a situation where gas is pouring out of your burner and you're not getting ignition
    because of a st...

    While impatiently waiting for a reply I did manage to uncover this document detailing a huge
    amount of what people want to know about gas valves. So, I thought I'd share. important detail
    that is rel...

    If your using Honeywell gas valves the regulator doesn't mean as much, due to the ability of
    the gas valve to control inlet pressure and and outlet pressure. You do need to make sure the
    regulator is ...

    Awesome thread guys. Hopefully somebody can help me figure out what I'm doing wrong. I'm trying
    to setup an all 11"WC LP gas setup because I'm planning to do a Honeywell valve temperature

    If you really want to use a thermowell, you can get a replacement probe. Supposedly they are
    are using a NTC 10KOhm @ 25C, 3435 Beta probe. can get a replacement probe that can slide
    into a >5mm the...

    I wasn't trying to imply that it was entirely safe. Even manual ignition isn't safe. I know
    I've had more than one time where I was fumbling with a blown out lighter and gotten a small
    boom. It defini...
