    Struggling a bit to get it under 300 degrees without it putting out the coals. Any advise?
    Also, the thermometer on mine is off approx 50 degrees.

    How much coal is being used? Are you putting it in white hot? Can less coal be used and then
    closing the lid while only a portion of the coal is hot? I'm just thinking of some things my
