  • For years I talked about how id love to make my own beer. Beer is one of my relegious sacrements...especially when im smoking ribs or turkey wings. Then, this last Christmas my wife and Daughter hot me a deluxe kit from Brewer's Best. the included a Rauchbier kit which we cooked last sat. but its been 65 hours not and no sign of fermentation or bubling. So im bummed.
  • After some experience, I want to try a vanilla ale. using whole ground up vanilla beans added toward the end of the boil. And I want to work up a "cheap" beer. A drinking ale not too strong and the goal here is to see how cheaply i can make it, but still have a good flavorfull beer. Hopefully using local inexpensive ingredients. I love to experiment with new ideas, with cooking and smoking too.

You should definitely do this. It's a good idea to always have something else to drink to take
your mind off waiting. ;) I would suggest a basic pale ale or hefeweizen for your next brew.
