    You need the hydrometer. It gives you something to drop and break just before you are going to
    use it. True..sad..story. Beer turned out pretty good though.

    You could just pull off the grommets and clean them, Also, it's a better way to inspect them
    for aging (cracks, wear rings, etc...). Personally, they're cheep so I just replace them every
    other sessio...
