  • It all started with Mr. Beer my brother got me for Christmas. The Mr. Beer batch went down the sink! It was sick and dead when I checked it. But I trudged on and tried some Cooper's extract kits and they were sick and dead tasting. So I trudged on and tried some MoreBeer partial-mash kits and they were YUMMY Eric's Bodacious Brown is AWESOME!!! I have moved on to BIAB and I love it SO simple I can do all grain without all the equipment and time. I'm sure that it's better to go the traditional way but I really like BIAB. So I'm gonna build a 44L electric BIAB kettle with information I've learned from here. I still use the Mr. Beer fermentor keg for test batches so I guess I owe alot to my Brother and Mr. Beer for getting m

I don't wanna cut the dip tube so I can use the keg as a serving keg also. I thought about
bending it but still the same result. I don't necessarily have one dedicated fermentor keg just
    which ever on...

Yeah I use it mainly as a trub filter. I'm sure it wouldn't come close to a plate filter as far
as clarity. The first batch of red ale is fairly clear but not crystal. The second batch of
    smoked scotc...

I used white cloth to be safe. I've been accused of being to anal but I take it as a
compliment. Better safe than sorry. On my filter most of the gunk is caught in the first 3-4

Also you need to put teflon tape on the threaded cap before each use or it's almost impossible
    to get back out.
