One more update. I kegged this last week and it's pretty well carbed now. Still no
melon/strawberry after the dry hop. It has a mild citrusy overtone, but nothing in particular
    stands out. One flavor ...

  • Posted in thread: Any means of circulating wort past immersion chiller? on 07-02-2015 at 03:44 PM
Just have to be careful of hot side aeration with direct stir methods. I considered this a few
months ago and went with a morebeer counterflow chiller instead. I can cool a 6 gallon batch
    from 180F to...

Just an update. After 10 days in primary, the FG is 1.013. Second generation Yeast Bay

So I find myself solo tonight in Chicago. I'm here for 5 days with others, but on my first

house. Glass shards embedded in sticky wort went far and wide. This happened 5 minutes before
    SWMBO came home...

I brewed a version of this yesterday. For some reason my efficiency was way off. I have a 15
gallon mash tun and I think I need a certain critical mass of grain in order to achieve my
    usual 90%+ effic...

  • Posted in thread: Heady Topper- Can you clone it? on 06-18-2015 at 06:14 PM
I would say bobbrews post #2967 (should be page 297) is the best at this point.I'll try this
one with my next HT go around. I have done the Vegan clone twice and it's excellent, but not
    quite HT. The ...

Hi Dave!I live in Hampden and have been brewing for about 2-3 years now. I got started with a
simple kit purchased at the Farmhouse, but outgrew that quickly and ultimately built a clone of
    Kal's Elec...

I'm a little biased against it, but I would think the Vermont ale yeast with such a fruity hop
would come out good, but a bit one note.I did a bunch of recipes with Conan a year or two ago
    and it real...

Thanks for the update. I think I'll add Amarillo to the mix for some added depth.
