  • My wife and I share most of the same interests, its great to have someone so supportive of all of my (our) expensive hobbies! We enjoy off-roading in our Early Broncos, checking out craft breweries, raising our English Mastiffs. I'm a Marketing Director for a 4X4 aftermarket parts manufacturing company.

  • I started brewing shortly after I got out of college in the early 90's. I had only brewed a few extract batches when I loaned my equipment to a friend and never saw it again, putting my brewing hobby on a nearly 20-year hold. I've finally gotten back into it.
  • After re-learning the ropes with a few extract batches I plan to expand into all-grain as soon as possible, and start having more fun formulating my own recipes and tinkering with other aspects of the process. Looking forward to building some sort of keg system as well.

Cacao nibs will give you a more pronounced aroma than anything else, I love them in my
chocolate stout. My preferred technique is to soak them in enough vodka to cover, and then add
    the soaking liquid...

Possibly any of the above. Just yesterday I listened to an old episode of Brew Strong on the
Brewing Network, which was entirely about attenuation. I suggest looking it up and giving it a

I've brewed Jamil's Chicolate Hazelnut Porter (kit from MoreBeer) a few times. It has you add
the nibs to the fermenter after active fermentation subsides. I do it a little different and
    add them in t...

Mine are kinda rough under there too. Should be fine if properly sanitized. Wash well with PBW
after use, sanitize with Star San before next use.

I'm not sure what you're looking for in the way of an update. As I posted above this was
cancelled at the last minute from lack of participation.

Thanks everyone who showed an interest in this. Unfortunately there was only one person who
actually said he could make it so I cancelled it. Maybe with it being MLK weekend most folks
    had other plans...
