Added two tsp of McCormack's Pumpkin Pie spice to a spice bag and steeped that in hot water for
15 minutes. I strained the 'tea' through cheese cloth so that most of the lumps were removed,
added my p...Posted in thread: Joie De Vivre (Fake Imperial Pumpkin) on 09-03-2011 at 06:11 PM
Some people hate cloves. I.e., I used to love german hefe's, now I can't touch them. Ech.Spices
are a bit of a wild card. I think they can differ greatly due to age, form, origin, etc.FWIW, I
don't th...Posted in thread: Joie De Vivre (Fake Imperial Pumpkin) on 09-02-2011 at 02:17 PM
I used pre-ground cinnamon, fresh grate nutmeg, and fresh ground clove and after a week in the
carboy all I seem to taste is clove. SWMBO thinks Im nuts and feels that it is balanced but all
I seem to...Posted in thread: Joie De Vivre (Fake Imperial Pumpkin) on 08-21-2011 at 09:03 PM
Just finished brewing this beer.Has a great taste going into the carboy, very much like pumpkin

temperature...Posted in thread: Seriously, too much foam. HELP! on 06-26-2011 at 12:43 PM
This batch was for summer outings and taking on the boat. I did not want to be lugging a ton of
bottles around so I decided to just fill growlers as needed to take where I want to go.Posted in thread: Seriously, too much foam. HELP! on 06-26-2011 at 12:15 AM
Several things jump out in your situation. 1) It's very difficult to get a good pour at room
temp even on a perfectly balance system because the co2 naturally wants to come out of

Having a similar issue with my new keg setup. The kegs and lines are all at room temperature. I
naturally carbed the beer in the keg, purged the CO2, hooked up my tank, set the regulator for
2psi and ...Posted in thread: Home made Hop Stopper - hop taco etc on 04-19-2011 at 10:46 AM

create a square shape and what I dub the "Hop Pocket."Worked very very well as a filter for my
Therminator. ...
